Formation of the Bible

Sola Scriptura

In our final lesson, we look at the foundational doctrine known as Sola Scriptura and the idea that Scripture is our final authority in matters of faith and practice.

Synoptic Gospels

In this lesson, we look at the Synoptic Gospels and begin to understand the retelling of Jesus’ story. When were these accounts written? What language was used? Etc.

The Apocrypha

This lesson was originally part of the previous session, but it is an important topic. Why is it that the Apocrypha is not part of the modern canon for protestants but is part of the canon for the Roman Catholic Church?

In this introduction I look at some terms I will be using and look at a general overview of the course.

Section Notes: I have provided notes for each session in printable or interactive PDF. These notes can be utilized by a group or individually. If you would prefer an interactive PDF to fill out on your phone or computer, look for the link below the download button on each notes page.
